Best facial cleanser for blemish-prone skin?

Help me!
I am 12 and I have an oily T-zone, some whiteheads and zits on my forehead, blackheads on my nose and some zits and whiteheads on the area below my eyes/near my nose.

I refuse to use proactiv because it is carcinogenic and too expensive. I use Clearasil daily face wash and wet my face with warm water first rub it on then rinse with warm water and a natural lavender-witch hazel toner then use sunscreen as a moisturizer and at night I use the same cleanser and toner then cetaphil daily moisturizing lotion.

I have not been able to find anything that rids me of my terrible skin! I want the bumps and redness to be gone, period. I want to know if you think I am doing anything wrong and what routine u recommend, and which toners, moisturizers and most importantly cleansers are the best for blemished skin.

Thanks for the help!!!! Greatly appreciated. Best answer chosen tomorrow.

Thanks!! :D

Try out the Biore Blemish fighting ice cleanser. I really like that one. The Biore Steam activated cleanser is really good too.

Neutrogena makes some REALLY great cleansers as well. I like the Gentle foaming cleanser. I liked that one as well.

    Good luck!

Ever since I’ve done this routine I’ve had very very clear soft skin-

    1. I wipe of all my makeup with sheercover conditioning cleanser. You could also use baby wipes or a face cloth and some unscented lotion.
    2. I wet my face and apply Apricot Scrub (you can find this at walmart for really cheap) and rub in circular motions all around my face. This is something I highly recommend ! I love this product!
    3. Then I use these (clean and clear I think) cleansing face pads.
    4. Lastly I put on some unscented face moisturizer. No Fancy brand or anything… Just what I find laying around lol.

I always do this before bed and in the morning. It clears my skin awesomely. Hope I helped! Have a nice day:)!

Proactive! Best there is. If not tell your parent to go to a Dermatoligist.

Try Cetaphil- it’s non-comodegenic (won’t clog pores) and will not over dry your skin. over-washing your face can make it more breakout prone- try to limit yourself to just am and pm washes. also, they make a moisturizer, too that is great and lightweight!

Nope your doing nothing wrong :)

I recommend you do this routine,

Moisten a wash cloth with warm water. With both hands start at the base of the neck and moisten the neck and face with upward and outward circular motions. This is essential, because we need to remove the dead epithelial before hand. With a nickel sized portion of facial cleanser dab small amounts on either side of the Adams Apple, the chin, each side of lower jaw, each cheek, each side of the nose, each eye lid, each temple and about three dabs across the forehead. Moisten fingers with the warm water and with the finger tips work in small circular motions upward and outward starting on the neck. Working up the neck and face methodically.

Using toner, after save or acne cleansing pads you will cover the cleansed surface of the neck and face. If it makes it easier with the toner or after shave moisten a piece of cotton or square of gauze with the toner or after shave. Rub the solution on neck and face in the same upward and outward motions used for cleansing.

Dab small drops of moisturizer on each side of the neck, the chin, each side of lower jaw, each cheek, each side of the nose, each eye lid, each temple and about three dabs across the forehead.
Smooth the lotion all over the neck and face in circular motions upward and outward as before.

Garnier Pure Active Pimple Reducing Toner, Clinique Moisturiser Lotion and Neutrogena WAVE Sonic & Original Power-Cleanser are the best for blemished skin :)

I had the same problem. when it comes to cleansers, always use Neutrogena. They are the best! If you wear makeup, always rinse your face with cold water after you wash it. This will close your pores and not allow dirt, oils, and makeup to get in them. Oh and the sunscreen is probably causing that oily T-zone. Try using Cera-ve moisturiser (Its only available at drug stores) its light and lets your skin breathe…. Cetaphil is also a heavy moisturiser. I reccommend Cera-ve. Again. Haha.
    Hope this helps!

A little amount goes a long way. It cleans all the dirt off your skin and is sensitive skin friendly. I use it everyday and it makes my skin feel great. I then use the Philosophy Microdelivery
Micro-Massage Exfoliating Wash to scrub off all the excess dead skin off my face. I then finish my routine by using Cliniques Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion.

I have EXTREMELY oily skin thats acne prone. This is my routine:

Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Cleanser morning and night.

John Masters Jojoba Ginseng or Kiss My Face Jojoba Mint face scrub 2-4 mornings a week.

Desert Essence Tea Tree Pads or Witch Hazel as toner morning and night.

John Masters Moroccan Clay mask, Alba Botanica Deep Sea facial mask 1-2 nights a week or very thick layer of PLAIN milk of magnesia.

Desert Essence Blemish Touch stick to acne.

Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean oil control lotion, pure Aloe Vera gel or Boscia oil free Daily Hydration SPF 15 as moisturizer in the morning.

Desert Essence/Jason Natural pure Jojoba oil as moisturizer at night (just get a few drops, massage between fingers and pat into face, allowing it to absorb. this is a miracle for oily, acne prone skin!) Sometimes, MSM Lotion Orange Ylang Ylang as moisturizer at night applied the same way.

The products I use are all natural and dangerous ingredient free. They are also cruelty free.

I would avoid cetaphil, clean and clear, clearasil, garnier, loreal, vichy, olay, ponds, neutrogena because they are just as carcinogenic as proactive is. They are tested on animals, contain PARABENS and many toxic ingredients I’d avoid. You’re young and don’t want to have years of using those types of products especially with new research linking them to all kinds of problems.

    Good luck!

this has been my twice a day for about forty years, never use soap on my face I clean my face and neck with vitamin E cream that I get from the dollar store ,I then apply it to my face and neck in a circular motion, leaving it on for about 10 min. then I remove it with a warm damp cloth making sure that all the cream is off my face ,the last and best thing is I get very hot damp face cloth [ as hot as you can stand it ] put it over my face and neck then repeat , never rub your face gently pat it to remove any excess water. now lightly add what ever moisturizer that you might like.

I use Neutrogena Rapid Clear Oil Eliminating Foaming Cleanser. It’s like $ 7 at Walmart and it’s the only thing that has ever made my face clear in the 7 years I’ve been dealing with acne. Then, I use the Neautrogena Rapid Clear Fight & Fade Spot Treatment gel, which is about $7-9 and then follow with Cera-Ve daily moisturizer (unfortunately it’s about $13 a bottle at Walgreens, but it’s so worth it).

I do this 2x a day and my skin stays fairly clear.

    Hope this helps
